About Me
Hi, I’m Nicky, the founder of Take It, and I’m so excited to share my story and my heart behind this bakery with you. I was born and raised in Colombia, where the aroma of fresh-baked bread and pastries was a part of daily life. But life took me on a new adventure when I moved to the U.S. at 15, eventually settling in Los Angeles. While I love this city and its diversity, I struggled to find the flavors from my hometown—the rich, comforting baked goods that felt like home. For years, this longing stayed with me. It always been about the sense of community, warmth, and connection that comes with sharing a meal. During this time, God placed a call on my heart to do something about it—to create a space where not only the flavors of Colombia could be shared but where people could experience God’s love through something as simple, yet profound, as a baked good. That’s when Take It was born.
Take It is more than just a bakery to me; it’s a mission. It's about sharing the taste of home and the warmth I feel every time I enjoy the food from my hometown, while also creating a space for people to connect and engage with each other and with God. Everything we make is crafted with love, with the intention of glorifying Him and inviting His presence into every interaction. My dream is to see Take It grow into a welcoming bakery and coffee shop—a place where the menu expands to feature not only Colombian pastries but also authentic Colombian coffee and our famous Juguitos (fruit juices) that will transport you straight to the streets of Barranquilla. More than just food, I want Take It to be a place where conversations about faith and life can flourish, where community is built, and where people feel at home, no matter where they come from.

Mission
At Take It, our mission is to bring the authentic, comforting flavors of Colombia to Southern California, creating baked goods that not only taste amazing but also warm the soul. With each pastry, we aim to reflect God's love and goodness, inviting everyone to experience the feeling of home and community. As we grow from local farmers markets to multiple locations, we are committed to using our bakery as a platform to glorify God, foster meaningful conversations about His love, and inspire connections that bring people closer to Jesus. Every bite we serve is a testament to His grace, and the joy of sharing life together.
Vision
Our vision is to grow Take It into a cherished and vibrant bakery/coffee shop that reaches communities across Southern California and beyond, where people experience a taste of Colombia and the warmth of God's presence. Through every interaction, from the packaging to the atmosphere, we want to create an environment that reflects His love, invites reflection, and sparks conversations about faith. As we expand, we hope to create spaces that feel like home—where people can savor delicious baked goods, connect with others, and grow in their relationship with Jesus. Ultimately, our goal is to build a legacy of faith, community, and nourishment, all centered around glorifying God through the simple but profound gift of baking.
